Ingredients for the jalapeno simple syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 to 6 jalapeños, cut lengthwise
Ingredients for the margarita
1 oz. Cointreau
2 oz. premium Blanco tequila
1 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
1 to 2 oz. jalapeño syrup
To make the simple jalapeño syrup, boil water, sugar, and jalapeños. Cook for five to seven minutes, then turn off heat. Strain to rid of seeds and jalapeño flesh.
Combine all liquids and half lime in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and pour over a salt-rimmed glass filled with a couple of large ice cubes.
