These Are the Top 25 Jobs for Work/Life Balance

Is the 40-hour work week becoming a thing of the past? It has already been scaled back to 30 in Sweden, and firms there "have found that the result is ." In the U.S., employees work about , and according to a , work/life balance for Americans has significantly decreased over the last six years. "Maintaining a healthy work/life balance can be tough in today’s work environment, but some jobs allow for more flexibility than others. In fact, work/life balance has decreased in recent years, as employees have reported an average work/life balance satisfaction rating of 3.5 in 2009, 3.4 in 2012, and 3.2 thus far in 2015," the report states. 

To compile the top 25 jobs with the best work/life balance, Glassdoor looked at company reviews. Glassdoor users rate companies they've worked for on a scale of one to five. To make the cut, a "job title had to have been rated by at least 75 people with that position at two or more companies, and 15 percent of reviews for the job title had to cite work/life balance as a pro." Surprisingly, data scientists came in at No. 1 for work/life balance and salary; they earn about $115,000 a year. The salary outcome isn't so great for lab assistants and substitute teacherswho are paid less than one-fourth of that, making $27,550 and $24,380, respectivelybut they still rank high on the list.

Obviously, roles that require less time in the office don't pay as well, but which would you prefer: longer hours and more pay, or fewer hours and more play?
