7 Tartine Recipes to Whip Up for Summer Picnics

There’s nothing quite like packing a picnic basket and spreading out a blanket to channel that “summertime and the livin’ is easy” vibe that we all fantasize about. Of course, the perfect picnic requires a menu that’s built around fresh, simple, seasonal ingredients. There’s no better way to showcase them than with colorful tartines, which can be summed up as an open-faced sandwich. I’ve rounded up my seven go-to recipes that are so easy, they can be packed up for a midweek lunch break (who says picnics have to be reserved for the weekend?) while still being impressive enough to shine in a romantic outdoor tête-à-tête in the park.

Add a bottle of rosé and a mason jar full of strawberries, and your picnic basket is ready for summer.
