After earlier this year to no avail, the always humble rapper and self-proclaimed creative genius has turned his gaze . In a Monday night interview with BBC Radio 1, the fashion designer confessed, "I have to work with IKEA—make furniture for interior design, for architecture."
West went on to describe his vision for "a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm," nominating himself as the man for the job. "Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing—because you know what? I want a bed that he makes. I want a chair that he makes." Third-person rant concluded.
Inspiration reportedly struck the rapper after his visit to the IKEA headquarters in Älmhult, Sweden, earlier this year, as evidenced by his impassioned tweet following his visit:
Super inspired by my visit to Ikea today , really amazing company… my mind is racing with the possibilities…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 9, 2016
Despite a shared love of minimalism, IKEA is reportedly not into the idea of collaborating with West—or at least not right now. , IKEA is "really flattered by Kanye West's high interest" in the company, but that they have "no plans to collaborate at this point in time."
"At IKEA we are constantly curious about different people, companies, artists and events around the world," read the email. "To have these connections and inspiring meetings is an important way for us to find new ways to create a better everyday life for the many people."
