It's official: The world has fever, and no one seems to be immune. And personally, we're suffering our own high-risk iteration of the epidemic as it pertains to beauty, specifically. Not only do we want to know she'll be using on the big day, but we also just want to know everything the soon-to-be princess wears, you know, on a day-to-day basis. And, wait for it, we just found out. Ring the alarm, call your friends, ready your credit cards because we just received the exclusive information from Markle's longtime go-to makeup artist, herself.
Plus, in addition to a stealthy sneak peek inside Sellers's Markle-approved makeup bag, she also doled out her very best tips for applying said makeup bag. Or rather, the contents of it. So without further ado (because if you're anything like us, you're likely chomping at the bit), here are the eight must-have beauty products Sellers uses again and again on the almost royal.
"I do really love the Talika eye patches!" Sellers shares with us. "I love them because they actually work. There are many under-eye patches you may or may not see results from, but I honestly feel like these patches from Talika reduce puffiness instantly. (Just make sure you leave them on for the full 10 minutes.) They are really great to have in my kit for early-morning calls to help combat that inevitable puffiness and prep the under-eye area for concealer." Plus, Sellers says the patches will pave the way for a smoother concealer application later on in your routine. Win-win.
Sellers explains to us that whenever she works with Markle, she always has a few "solid products" within arms reach. And usually, she starts with this cult-favorite foundation from Giorgio Armani, which she applies with a slightly wet Beautyblender. Here's her strategy for a perfect color match each and every time:
"I use the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 6.25 with a drop or two of 5.5 for a healthy complexion. Very few faces require only one shade, so I like to mix more than one color to match the complexity and depth of the skin," says Sellers.
Instead of working foundation onto your complexion with your fingers or brush, do like Sellers and work the formula into the skin with a dampened (and then squeezed!) Beautyblender for a flawless, light-handed application.
"For concealer, I love to do a combination. First, I go in with the YSL Touche Eclat, which brightens underneath the eye and in the inner corners. I usually use the shade 2.5, but we have gone back and forth depending on the tone of Meghan's skin and the time of year," Sellers explains. I recommend choosing a shade one hue lighter than your actual skin tone to brighten!"
Then, Sellers tells us she goes in with this creamy concealer from Bobbi Brown (another cult favorite—especially among makeup artists) to complement the brightening effects of the YSL and to add a little more coverage. She uses Beige on Markle.
"I also love to use the RMS Living Luminizer in Magic for a glowing, slightly wet look on the high points of the cheekbones and a few other places we want to glow. This highlighter is a favorite when working with Meghan because of its subtlety; it doesn't go on looking like a disco ball, but it has just enough pop to make her skin glow in a natural, dewy way. I like to layer it on a few times to get the desired amount of radiance," Sellers confirms.
Next up, eyes. "Another important product I use when working with Meghan is MAC's Kohl Eyeliner in Teddy," notes Sellers. "I use it on her inner waterline for a bronzy finish, and it really frames her eyes."
Last but not least, lashes. Which, as Sellers notes, is one of the most important parts of Markle's beauty aesthetic. "A great mascara is key for lots of volume in the lash! I really love this one by Iconic London in Black. I layer it on a few times because she really loves a voluminous look!"
