Selfie Toast Is Exactly What It Sounds Like

Toast has been making a major culinary comeback as of late, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a menu without at least one item consisting of warm crispy bread topped with some kind of artisanal topping.

But if a Vermont-based company called  has its way, avocado will be replaced as the most popular toast topping in favor of… selfies.

Yes, you read that right.

All you have to do to see your own likeness on a piece of toast is mail a high-resoution photo of yourself to the company, which will then send a customized toasterer, work of artback to you within the week.

However, the company warns that not all photos are conducive to toast art: "We are good, but remember, fine detail is darn near impossible to achieve with heat and toast," it says on its website. "If we squint and can't see your face, we will cancel [the] order and refund your purchase."

The question now becomes: Have we reached peak selfie? The folks at Burnt Impressions sure hope not. They're selling their toasters for $75 with the hopes that we will want to eat ourselves for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Make the perfect piece of toast with this Cuisinart , and let us know if you think we've reached peak selfie. Shatalova
